A Rescuer's Prayer
Now I lay me down to rest
I pray my soul can stand this test
Of watching critters lose their homes
While owners gripe and cry and moan
I long for strength of spirit and
I pray they'll find a home again
Where they will know a loving heart
I can't do much, but it's a start..
And spare me from the owner's pleas
About the baby's allergies
Or how they're moving out of state
Or spitefulness 'tween cat and mate'
Please keep me sane while dealing with
The woman who bought as a gift
A wriggling tiny ball of fluff
That now is playing way too rough
Remind me I should bite my lip
When confronted with "he grew too quick."
"I didn't know he'd get so large."
"He seems to think that he's in charge."
Protect my heart when I hear them say
"I think we'll breed our dog one day."
Sometimes I think it'll break in two;
Each day brings trials harsh and new
And if I die before I wake
I pray one hopeless soul you'll take
My tears are gone, my faith is bare
Lord, please hear my rescue prayer.

GOING TO THE RESCUERS MISSION STATEMENT
To Provide effective means to pet owners to save, protect, adopt and care for their dogs and cats. To provide effective means to rescuers to rescue, protect, adopt out, and care for dogs ad cats that need assistance.
WELCOME!
We have had lots of FOLKS join and we are SO glad to have you. WE understand this site is different than any out there. I hope to HELP GUIDE you along and make you a bit more comfortable in navigating around here. We NEED you to stay...the DOGS, CATS and OTHER ANIMALS need you to stay...so, read on, take a few minutes and if you still don't understand, CONTACT US.
Now, first thing when you sign up, it will take you to your page which you can decorate anyway you want. We ask you to keep it clean. Also, you might want to Download Mozilla Foxfire for a browser. Ning sites seem to work better. Now you can see the pictures better, they will load easier, faster...all is well.
Now that you are set up with the "site" to help rescue, set your page up "show off" your rescue. Who do you have up for adoption? Put them on your page.
At the top of every page are tabs with drop down lists. There are two you will for sure want to pay close attention to...Forums ( DOG STUFF, CAT STUFF, OTHER ANIMALS and EVERYTHING ELSE) and GROUPS. This is the difference: Forums are for posting DOGS, CATS and OTHER ANIMALS, like crossposting in email. The last twenty posted show up on the main page. The GROUPS have different topics you can join and are open discussion (like myspace or facebook) Please join as many as you want and get active in them.
Our MEMBER OF THE MONTH and PET OF THE MONTH will be on our front page for the month.
BLOGS are also posted on the main page, the last twenty posts are shown, also, the last 100 PHOTO'S are posted in a slideshow on the main page. We will post any Site News under the tab Site News or we will put a link on the main page.
Be sure and keep your profile filled out with as much detail as possible. We often have rescues or transports that are urgent and do searches based on your profile information and maybe you can be the one that helps save a life. Also, if you are a transporter, please join the TRANSPORT GROUP where there is a form you can email me.
